  • Appointments are for 10 minutes.  If you feel a longer appointment is required then please ask when booking the appointment.
  • If more than one member of your family needs to see the GP then please make a separate appointment for each member.
  • When you arrive at the practice you can book in for your appointment with the receptionist or using the automated check in.
  • If you are unable to attend an appointment, please inform the Surgery as soon as possible.  This allows the Surgery to offer the appointment to someone else and thereby use the clinic time more effectively.
  • The Surgery recognises that all health care problems are important but please try phoning for non-urgent matters in the afternoon and remember Monday morning is the busiest time of the week.

 Routine appointments with your GP

Routine appointments can be booked in advance up to 6 weeks ahead, or on the day required.  On the day booking is subject to availablilty as a limited amount of appointments are released each day.  Any routine appointments can be booked from 8 am by telephone, or from 8.30 am in person.  You can use our online booking service which operates 24 hours a day and will offer you the next available routine appointment with one of our GPs.

Emergency appointments with your GP

During our opening hours, we always have emergency appointments available for those who need them.  These are either at the end of morning surgery or in our daily drop in URGENT CARE clinic at 3 pm (there is no need to telephone; just turn up).

If you have asked to see a GP urgently and have been given an emergency appointment, please be aware

  • This means you have an urgent health problem that cannot wait until the next routine appointment.  If it can wait please book a routine appointment.
  • The Doctor will only deal with one urgent matter for you.
  • NO requests for routine prescriptions or medical certificates in the emergency appointments
  • If the Doctor does not feel the problem is urgent, you will be asked to book a routine appointment

Telephone Appointments

We have 10 minute telephone appointments after morning surgery or before afternoon surgery.  These can be booked up to 6 weeks in advance, either by telephoning the surgery or in person.

You will then be allocated a time and the GP will call you back.

Home Visits

If you are too ill to attend the surgery, then a Doctor can visit you at home at their discretion.

Please try to telephone between 9:00am - 10:30am to enable the GPs to plan their day.

Home visits occur between midday and 15:00pm.

Home visits are for those patients who are unable to attend the surgery. The doctor will often telephone prior to the visit to see if your concerns can be resolved without needing a visit.

Extended Access Service

We have a new service offered by South Downs Health and Care (SDHC).  Urgent and routine appointments with a GP, either same day or in advance are now available via the Extended Access Service.  Patients registered with Enys Road Surgery can book an appointment at the service through their GP practice.  This is not a walk in service.  The opening hours are Monday to Friday 6.30pm - 8.30pm, Saturday 8.00am - 12.00pm and Sunday 9.00am - 12.00pm.  You can only book an appointment by contacting your own GP practice.  You may be able to get an appointment on the same day if required.  You will be asked to give your consent for another healthcare provider to access your medical record at the time of booking.

Appointments are available at Park Practice Eastbourne, Harbour Medical Practice Eastbourne, Pebsham Surgery Bexhill and Old School Surgery Seaford.

Routine appointments with the Nursing team

The Nursing team consists of Practice Nurses and Health Care Assistants:- to make an appointment please call the main number during opening hours.

Our Nurses have an important role in managing major illnesses and will often be your first point of contact. They see the patients independently, under the supervision of the Partners and are trained to recognise serious conditions and will refer you to a GP if required.
